Fraser Sutherland heads up Cedar Croft’s applied technology practice within a broad arena including manufacturers, research institutions, universities and government agencies. His major projects have had venues all over North America and Europe.
Fraser has experience assisting clients with all aspects of technology including development, transfer, licensing, commercialization and funding. His client projects have ranged from multi-nationals to start-ups. The industries served include agriculture, forest products, fishing, nutraceutical, light manufacturing and high-end service.
One of his major, 6-year, keystone projects was to develop a new approach to commercialize technology for the Federal Department of Agriculture and Agri-food in Atlantic Canada. This approach has led to the successful implementation of many leading-edge agricultural technologies in this region. A second keystone project involved the adaptation of Ukrainian defense technologies into commercially viable consumer and industrial businesses.
Fraser is a key participant on Cedar Croft’s business evaluation teams. He provides key expertise regarding the effectiveness and competitiveness of core client technologies, as well as the expertise needed to maximize the value of specific technologies. Holding a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering, he has been a professional engineer since 1971 and a management consultant since 1973,
